JAPAN

16-11

After 4 months travelling through Indonesia it was time to explore a new country, a country that almost feels like a different world.

Many people think all countries in Asia are more or less the same, but they couldn’t be more wrong. Indonesia stole our heart with beautiful nature, an unreal underwater world, lovely people and good food. But we also saw a lot of rubbish and trash everywhere, we experienced very bad road conditions, poor people and many inefficient procedures for everything you can think of. We realized this even more when we arrived in our next destination: Japan.

Japan, the land of the rising sun. The land where they have invented efficiency and where all trains run on time. We mean, ON TIME, calculated per second...! What a relieve and how relaxed did this feel. And because of this perfect and efficient public transportation we were able to see so much in such a short time....

This time it wasn’t just the 2 of us, but we were so happy to have Hans with us during the first week! It was great to spend quality time with such a good friend in this beautiful country!

As Hans, unfortunately, only had one week, we decided to try to experience Japan the fullest during these days. We started our trip in Tokyo. Linda has been here a few times before so she could guide Hans and Hylke through this amazing capital. And as Hans likes good food and good coffee too, we were lucky to be in food heaven.

Japan is famous for its blossom season, but we visited Japan during autumn foliage. We think this should be the most beautiful season to visit Japan. The trees are all so colourful and the weather was perfect with blue skies

It’s hard to describe all the places where we have been in only three weeks. Thanks to Linda’s planning skills we were able to see almost everything we wanted between Tokyo and Hiroshima including the Japanese Alps!
