Goodbyes are always hard: they mean you care about the people around you and they do not want to see you leave. But goodbyes also mean: until we meet again... And every day we are away, we are one day closer to that day when we meet again.....
A big thanks to all our friends and family who made our lasts weeks at home ones to never forget. We love you!
Our trip around the globe starts in St. Petersburg. A great start as it is such a short flight away and we have no jet lag! St. Petersburg is very pretty and is a perfect combination of culture, pretty sights and good food! As foodies we love our good food and good coffees. Especially at mickeys & monkeys, market place and biblioteca.
We spent 2 days exploring the city by foot and we also joined a free sightseeing tour, which was very interesting! We can definitely recommend this. Check http://petersburgfreetour.com/ for more details.
Of course a visit of St. Petersburg isn't complete without a visit of the Hermitage!
After a great time in St. Petersburg we took the night train to Moscow. What an experience.
We were positively surprised by the beauty of Moscow. The city is very neat, clean and the beautiful buildings make this city an amazing capital.
During our visit we met Linda's colleagues from the ATPI office in Moscow and they took us on a day trip outside the city center. We visited a great lookout point near the oldest university, a very nice restaurant called Fish point, Victory Square and Old Arbat. It was so nice to spend time with them and to be told stories about Russia from the first hand. A big thanks to Sasha, Artur, Oleg and Lena to make our day a memorable day. Creating memories starts with good company (and wine ;)!
Now we are off to the other side of Moscow... We will board the Trans Siberian Railway to Irkutsk. Let's make our dreams come true!
Next: our train ride on the Trans Siberian Railway!
